OLIVE'S BLITZ TORTE | |
3/4 c. Crisco 1/2 c. granulated sugar 3 tbsp. milk 1 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder 4 egg yolks, beaten until lemon color 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. nuts, chopped FILLING: 3 tbsp. sugar 1 egg 1 tbsp. flour 1 c. milk Blend above ingredients and spread in 2 greased cake pans with sliders. Beat egg whites until very stiff. Slowly add 1 cup sugar. Fold in 1/2 cup nuts. Spread over batter already in cake pans. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in 350 degree oven. When cake is done, turn one layer downward and other up. Between layers spread filling. Then top with second layer. |
