CHOCOLATE BUTTERMILK CAKE WITH CARAMEL ICING | |
2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. Crisco 2 eggs 1/3 c. cocoa 1/3 c. hot water 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda 2 c. flour CARAMEL ICING: 2 c. brown sugar 2 tbsp. flour 1/2 stick butter 8 tbsp. canned evaporated milk 1 MILKY WAY® bar Pinch of salt Mix together first 3 ingredients. Mix together next 2 ingredients and add to first mixture. Mix buttermilk and soda and add to mixture. Add flour and mix well. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean, do not overbake. Cool completely and frost with caramel icing. Caramel Icing: Bring to boil sugar, milk, flour, salt. Add butter and candy bar. Beat until thick. Frost cake immediately. Use oblong or layer pans. |
