CALYPSO BARS 
1 c. hot water
1 1/2 sq. chocolate

Put chocolate into hot water. When chocolate melts add 1 cup sugar and 1 1/3 cups chopped dates. Cook until thick and then add 1/4 cup butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Cool.

CRUST:

3/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1 c. nuts, optional

Mix and save half for topping and press the other half in a 9 x 13 inch pan. Spread cooked mixture over crust and top with the other half of crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
