I tried that easy baked pork chops last night. It was so good. I don't have onion mix soup. So I used homestyle mix soup. Baked pork chops longer than 45 minutes because very thick pork chops. Removed the foil from pan after 45 minutes, baked it in half hour more and they looks great. My hubby and son loved it and said make some more often. Thanks for recipe..

I tried the recipe, with alterations (see below):

I browned the porkchops on both sides before baking. Baked with 1 can cream of mushroom soup mixed with 1/4 cup water and 1/2 cup sour cream and baked @ 350°F for 45 minutes and served on wild rice....they turned out really good! My husband now thinks I can cook!

Great recipe...found the other comments helpful. I did use onion soup mix, sour cream, cream of mushroom, and milk but when it looked too thick added 1/4 cup of water..moist and delicious.

I made this last night for my kids. I did brown first and I did have thick pork chops so I ended up cooking them for 60 minutes at 350 using onion soup mix and the cream of mushroom. It was good but I added salt and pepper after serving it was a bit bland. The gravy was a bit thin but it was good over the rice. The kids did like it even my 12 year old that doesn't like much meat.

I made this for dinner tonight. My pork chops were about 3/4 inch thick, so I baked it for 30 minutes, and that was enough cooking time for them. The flavor was great, but the sauce was way too watery, and I used half the water they suggested! Maybe next time I'll omit the water all together.

This is one of my favorites. I have made this numerous times since finding it on cooks.com and every time it is wonderful. It is such a quick and easy dish to make and very flavorful. Thank you.

I made this recipe with some thicker chops, and had to increase the cooking time and temp for the additional 30 minutes. I would also reduce the amount of liquid used as I only had two chops. I think the type of baking dish used can also make a difference to how much liquid one has at the end. As with any good recipe, I will adjust it to suit our tastes otherwise very tasty and will make again.

Mom used to use this recipe when I was young, Now, As I do most of the cooking, I like to try different things.
Like, Instead of a can of water or milk, try a can of apple juice, and there is no need now, for the apple sauce.
PS, Also, before putting the Chops into the baking dish, Seer both sides, the browning seems to bring out more flavour...

After reading everyone's reviews of this recipe I used a little of everyone's advice, well let me start off by saying I didn't have the onion soup mix or the cream of mushroom mix. I made my own rue with butter and flour and used 2% milk to make my cream sauce, in a baking dish I added 4 chops with onions, bell peppers and mushrooms seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic powder, I also added poultry seasoning to the chops. I poured the sauce over everything and baked for 30 min. I then sprinkled Italian bread crumbs and a little bit of parm and put it under the broiler just to brown. I served it over white rice and it was a huge hit! Yummy! I know I added a few extra steps but it was fun to play around with this recipe.

I have been using this combination for some 25 years but I use it for my beef roast. We put the gravy over mashed potatoes. I will have to try it with pork chops.

I really like this recipe. I was looking for something quick that I didn't have to run to the store for extra ingredients. The only thing I didn't have was dry onion soup mix. I substituted the water and onion soup mix for a can of french onion soup. It was wonderful.

AWESOME recipe! I made this with the ingredients listed except I used milk instead of water. Also I baked at 375°F for about 40 mins or so. Browning the chops before hand with salt and pepper also cut down cooking time. Served over rice and my 4 yr old was asking for more! Thanks for sharing! Super easy and Super yummy!

We love this, but use half a can of water and about a quarter of the package of onion soup mix! Also, I brown the pork on both sides!! Love it!!
