CHEDDAR CHEESE CHOWDER 
2 c. water
2 c. diced potatoes
1/2 c. carrots, diced
1/2 c. celery, diced
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

WHITE SAUCE:

1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
2 c. milk
2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
1 c. cubed ham

Combine water, vegetables, salt and pepper in large kettle. Boil 10-12 minutes. Meanwhile, in small saucepan, make white sauce by melting the butter. Add flour and stir until smooth. Slowly add milk; cook until thickened. Add grated cheese to white sauce; stir until melted. Add white sauce and cubed ham to vegetables that HAVE NOT BEEN DRAINED. Heat through. Yield: 6 servings.

Love the recipe! I had this one time at a friends house an never could get her recipe, So I came on here to look for it and this was the only recipe that was the closest to what she made, The only difference was she didn't add celery! I made this for my family and I have to say it was so good, I think it was even better than what my friend made! Thanks so much for sharing your recipe. It was great, and very easy to make!!
