SWEET AND SOUR BABY BACK RIBS 
4 lb. spare ribs (baby back)
Clove garlic
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 c. water
Cooking oil

SAUCE:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. vinegar
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. cornstarch
3/4 c. pineapple juice
1 tsp. soy sauce

Brown ribs thoroughly on all sides. Drain fat. Add soy sauce, water, and garlic. Cover tightly and cook until all liquid is absorbed and ribs are tender.

SAUCE: Combine sauce ingredients and pour over ribs and stir. Cover and cook about 15 minutes. Serve with rice or seasoned noodles.
