BAKED SAUERKRAUT AND PORK | |
2 lbs. sauerkraut, drained 1 lg. onion, sliced thin 1 lg. apple, peeled & sliced 1/4 tsp. caraway seed 1 (14 oz.) can beer 3-4 lbs. pork loin, chops or spareribs Salt & pepper to taste (sprinkle on roast) Place first five ingredients in a roasting pan. Cover. Bake in 325 degree oven for 1 hour. Add pork (trim off fat). Bake 3 hours more. Remove cover for last 1/2 hour. Add water as needed to keep 'kraut juicy. Good with mashed potatoes. Serves 8. |
