APPLE AND RAISIN BREAD PUDDING 
4 apples, peeled and cubed
3 c. torn slices of bread
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. raisins
3 eggs (beaten)
2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

CRUMB TOPPING:

1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix apples, bread, raisins, and sugar together. Beat eggs; add milk and vanilla. Mix well together and put in buttered casserole (large). Put crumbs on top and bake until golden brown in 350 degree oven about 1 hour. Serve warm with ice cream or plain, cooled.

Wonderful recipe! My 90 Year old Dad says it reminds him of the bread pudding his mother used to make. Everyone loved it! (I double the topping though).

Very good. I used 6 slices of torn bread (about 4 cups) since my bread was fresh. Bread pudding is better with stale bread because it soaks up the liquid better. Family enjoyed this as a breakfast treat.
