FRESH STRAWBERRY-PEACH PIE 
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt
4 c. sliced fresh peaches
2 c. sliced strawberries
2 tsp. lemon juice

TOPPING (optional) :

Milk
2 tsp. sugar
2 tbsp. sliced blanched almonds, crushed

Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and and salt in large bowl. Add peaches and strawberries. Drizzle with lemon juice. Toss to coat fruit with sugar mixture. Spoon into pastry lined 9-inch pie plate. Add top crust.

Topping: Brush top crust with milk. Sprinkle with nuts and sugar. (May omit nuts if desired). Cover edge with foil and bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove foil. Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until crust is light golden brown. Cool until barely warm or to room temperature before serving.
