3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3/8 c. cocoa
2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 1/2 c. water
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix first 5 ingredients, then stir in mayonnaise. Gradually add water and vanilla. Pour into greased pan and bake at 350 degrees, 30 to 40 minutes.

FROSTING: (optional)
1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
5 tbsp. butter
2 1/3 tbsp. water

Mix sugar, butter and water. Pour over baked cake, after cooled.

Who would ever think of a cake made with mayonnaise? It's yummy!
