Easy Homemade Barbecue Sauce

This recipe is very easy and very good! 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar is a lot of sugar so I cut it back to 3/4 cup and that was plenty. I also added apple cider vinegar and use onion powder instead of diced onions. I added a little liquid smoke and a dash of Worcestershire and just let it simmer til I was ready for it. Delish!

I used 1 1/2 cups ketchup, 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar and 1/4 cup mustard. I added the following to suit my taste so there are no measurements: Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper and a dash of cayenne pepper. I have about 14-16 oz. of sweet tasting barbecue sauce that gives a little kick. Thanks I can make this now instead of buying a bottle that I don't like. This will be perfect for kielbasa, glazed chicken, a dip for chicken nuggets or tenders among many other uses.

Very good. I also used a blender and added some apple cider vinegar to give it more of a tang and simmered it for about 20 minutes. Came out great!

Add about a teaspoon (or more depending on your taste), of Chipotle Tabasco Sauce...YUMMY! It adds a nice smoked flavor, that it needed BADLY! :)
