CHOCOLATE PECAN COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. uncooked oats
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 egg
8 chocolate bars

Sift flour, soda, and salt together. Add sugars, butter, salt, egg, and vanilla; blend until smooth. Stir in oats and pecans.

Shape dough into a 12-inch roll, wrap in waxed paper and chill. Slice chilled roll and place on cookie sheet. Bake 12-12 minutes at 375 degrees. While cookies are still warm, place a chocolate square and pecan pieces on top.
