SESAME BEEF
1/2 c. sliced green onions
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 c. sesame oil
2 tbsp. sesame seed, crushed
1/2 c. soy sauce
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. pepper
1 lb. sirloin, sliced very thin
2 pkgs. Ramen noodles (any flavor), don't use seasoning packets
2 tbsp. cornstarch
2/3 c. cold water
4 tbsp. cooking oil
1 1/2 c. julienne cut carrots
2 c. julienne cut celery cabbage
2 c. broccoli flowerets

Combine green onion, garlic, sesame oil, sesame seed, soy sauce, sugar and pepper. Place meat in glass or enamel bowl. Mix sauce well, pour over meat and marinate at room temperature at least 30 minutes. Prepare Ramen noodles according to package directions (no seasoning packets), drain and keep warm.

Remove meat from marinade. Add cornstarch and cold water to marinade and blend well. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in wok, medium high heat. Add carrots; cook and stir rapidly 2-3 minutes. Add cabbage and broccoli; continue to cook and stir until vegetables are tender, 2-3 minutes. Remove to a bowl. Add 2 more tablespoons oil to wok and add beef, cooking and stirring until beef is brown, about 2-3 minutes.

Return vegetables to wok. Stir marinade mixture; add to wok. Cook and stir until sauce thickens. To serve, place warm Ramen noodles and beef mixture side by side, using some of sauce to top noodles. Do not substitute for sesame oil. Regular cabbage may be used for celery cabbage but taste will not be as delicate. Both items are readily available in a good supermarket. Serves 3-4.

For those wondering, "celery cabbage" is Napa Cabbage. I'd never heard of it before so I looked it up!
