PRALINE COOKIES 
1 2/3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 unbeaten egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecan halves

Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Set aside. Cream butter, add brown sugar gradually, creaming well with each addition. Blend in egg, vanilla, and dry ingredients; mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven 10 to 12 minutes. Cool.

Break pecan halves into 2 to 4 pieces. Place 4 to 5 pieces on top of each cookie. Drizzle 1 teaspoon frosting over each cookie. Yield: 3 1/2 dozen cookies.

PRALINE FROSTING:

1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. cream
1 c. confectioners' sugar, sifted

Combine brown sugar and cream in saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil 2 minutes; remove from heat. Blend in 1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar; beat until smooth. If frosting thickens, thin with cream, 1 teaspoon at a time. Drizzle over pecans on top of cookies.
