GOLDEN GLOW PICKLES | |
10 qt. ripe cucumbers (peeled and seeded, cubed) 12 med. chopped onions 2 sweet green peppers, chopped 1/2 c. salt 2 red hot peppers, chopped 1 qt. vinegar 2 tbsp. turmeric 7 1/2 c. white sugar 1/4 c. mustard seed 30 whole cloves in a bag Put cucumbers, onions and peppers in a large canner. Cover with water and salt. Let soak for 3 hours. Drain and add the vinegar, turmeric, sugar, mustard seeds and cloves. Cook until tender (approximately 15 minutes from time boiling starts). Put in canning jars while hot. |
