DEVIL DOGGIES 
1/4 c. + 2 tbsp. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. milk
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. + 2 tbsp. cocoa
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Cream filling (recipe follows)

Cream butter and gradually add sugar, beating well. Add egg and milk; beat well. Combine flour, cocoa, soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in vanilla.

Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls, 2" apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes or until done. Cool cookies completely on wire racks.

Spread bottom side of half of cookies with cream filling; place on top of the remaining cookies. Yield: about 3 1/2 dozen.

CREAM FILLING:

1/4 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/2 c. marshmallow creme
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Cream butter and powdered sugar in a small mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add marshmallow creme and vanilla; mix well. Yield: about 1 1/2 cups.
