TOM'S TACOS 
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
1 tsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. hot sauce
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
1/4 c. chopped onion
3 cloves minced garlic (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Heat above in saucepan. Keep warm. Brown 1 lb. ground beef in skillet stir in 1/2 tsp. garlic salt. Coarsely crush a package (approx 10 oz.) tortilla or corn chips in 8x8x2 dish. Spoon hot meat mixture over chips. Top with 4 or 5 slices of American cheese.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until cheese begins to melt. Sprinkle with shredded lettuce. Spoon taco sauce over lettuce. Serve immediately.
