TOMATO ASPIC | |
1 med. can tomatoes (mashed or processed in food processor) 1 c. water 1 1/2 packets unflavored gelatin 3 tbsp. vinegar 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 tsp. celery seed or 1/2 c. freshly chopped celery 1 med. onion, chopped 1 bell pepper, chopped 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper Dissolve the unflavored gelatin with part of the 1 cup of water. Then combine the dissolved gelatin with the rest of the ingredients. Pour into individual aspic molds and chill until firm. Serve on lettuce leaf. Top with mayonnaise. Serves 8. |
