BREAKFAST OR BRUNCH CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. hot sausage 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter 6 slices bread (no crusts) 1 1/2 cups shredded Longhorn or sharp Cheddar cheese 5 eggs, beaten well with mixer 2 cups half and half 1 tsp. salt Cook sausage and drain well. Melt butter in a 13x9-inch Pyrex or oven-safe pan. Tear bread in pieces and sprinkle over butter. Sprinkle drained sausage, cooked well done, over bread crumbs. Sprinkle cheese over sausage. Beat eggs with half and half and salt; pour over mixture. Cover and chill 8 hours or overnight. Bake at 350°F for 45 to 50 minutes. |
