ZESTY BARBECUED BEEF ON A BUN 
2 lbs. cooked beef, thinly sliced (about 6 c.)
1 env. Lipton onion soup mix
3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. prepared mustard
1/2 tsp. hot sauce (Tabasco)
1 c. coarsely grated carrot
1 lg. green pepper, cut in strips
12 hamburger buns
Lettuce (opt.)

Combine onion soup mix and tomato sauce in large saucepan. Add brown sugar, mustard and hot sauce and stir to blend. Add carrots and green pepper. Cover and cook on low for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in sliced beef and cook about 20 minutes more. Place about 1/2 cup of mixture on hamburger bun and add lettuce leaf. Makes 12 sandwiches.
