SOUR DOUGH BREAD (Starter) 
1 pkg. dry yeast
2 c. warm water
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. instant mashed potato powder
2 tsp. salt

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of the water; add remaining ingredients and stir well. Cover loosely and keep at room temperature for 24 hours.

FOOD FOR STARTER:

3/4 c. sugar
3 tbsp. instant potatoes
1 c. warm water

Combine above ingredients for starter. Mix well and add to starter. Let stand all day or 8 to 12 hours. Mixture will be very bubbly.

Take out 1 cup to make bread, place remainder in refrigerator. Keep in refrigerator 3 to 5 days and feed again.

If not making bread after feeding starter, take out 1 cup and discard or give to a friend. This is to avoid deflating the starter.
