CUBAN BLACK BEAN AND HAM SOUP 
Low Cholesterol. Makes 4 servings.

1 c. uncooked black beans, soaked overnight and drained
1 (2 oz.) slice Armour Lower Salt Ham
1/2 c. chopped green bell pepper
1 med. onion, finely chopped
2 tsp. Mrs. Dash original blend
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. ground cumin
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 1/2 c. (6 oz.) Armour Lower Salt Ham cut into 3/4 inch cubes

Combine beans, ham slice, green pepper, onion and seasonings in medium saucepan; add enough water to just cover beans. Bring to boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer about 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until beans are tender and most of liquid is absorbed. Add ham cubes. Cook 10 minutes, or until ham is heated through. Remove ham slice before serving. Serve over rice, if desired.
