SALISBURY STEAK 
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef chuck
1 1/4 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste
2 tsp. grated onion
1 egg, beaten
Melted butter

Combine ingredients but butter, mixing thoroughly but lightly. On buttered shallow baking pan, mold meat into shape of oblong or sirloin steak, making it 1 1/4" thick and pushing edges up like a steak. Brush top and sides with melted butter, place in hot oven (450 degrees) and bake 10 minutes, reduce heat to 325 degrees, to finish cooking (about 25 minutes). Brush with butter one or two times during baking.
