BUTTERNUT CAKE 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. self-rising flour
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. butternut flavoring

ICING:

1 stick butter
1 box confectioners' sugar
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 tsp. butternut flavoring
1 1/2 c. nuts

Cake: Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour alternately with milk. Add flavoring. Pour into 3 (9 inch) pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.

Icing: Cream butter to cheese until smooth on low heat. Add sugar and flavoring to nuts. Frost cooled cake.
