BREAD STICKS | |
1 tbsp. yeast dissolved in 1 1/2 c. warm water 2 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 3 1/4 c. flour Mix together, dough will be sticky, and knead on well-floured surface for 3 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes. Melt a cube of butter. Roll dough on floured board about 1/2 inch thick, cut in strips. Roll in butter and place back together in same rectangle shape on cookie sheet. (Put some of the melted butter on the cookie sheet before putting the bread sticks on it.) Sprinkle with garlic salt and generously sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top. Let raise about 10 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees about 15-20 minutes until done. These can be made early in the day, covered with foil and refrigerated until about an hour before dinner. Let come to room temperature and raise 10 minutes, then bake as directed. |
