CHEWY BREAD STICKS | |
1 pkg. active dry yeast 1 1/2 c. warm water (110) 1 tbsp. honey 5 to 5 1/4 c. all purpose flour Melted butter Onion salt, garlic salt, or seasoned salt In large bowl with electric mixer, dissolve yeast in warm water. On medium speed, beat in honey, gradually add 3 cups flour, beat well until dough pulls away from sides in stretchy strands. Add enough flour(1 1/2 to 2 cups) to make a soft dough. Knead on a lightly floured board about 10 minutes, until dough becomes smooth and satiny. Cut dough into quarters, then each quarter into 8 pieces, so you have 32 equal pieces. Let rise in warm spot for about 15 minutes, until slightly puffy. Brush each rope wiht melted butter, then sprinkle with seasoning salt. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden. Makes 32. |
