MASTER MIX 
5 lb. flour (16-18 c.)
3/4 c. baking powder
2 tbsp. cream of tartar
2 lb. vegetable shortening
2 1/2 c. powdered milk
3 tbsp. salt

Combine all ingredients in large container and mix together with hand until all evenly mixed, about 5 minutes. This mix can be stored at room temperature for months. Use in the following:

DUMPLINGS OR BISCUITS:

3 c. milk
3/4 c. water
3 c. mix
3/4 c. water
1 c. grated cheese, if desired

Blend and knead for 10 strokes. Place on cookie sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Makes 1 dozen biscuits.

PANCAKES:

3 c. mix
1 egg
1 1/4 c. water

Blend. Makes 18 medium pancakes.

MUFFINS:

3 c. mix
1 egg
2 tbsp. sugar
1 c. water

Mix water and egg. Blend in dry ingredients. Bake at 450 degrees for 25 minutes. Makes 12 muffins.

WAFFLES:

3 c. mix
1 egg
1 1/2 c. water

Blend well. Makes 6 waffles.

COFFEE CAKE:

3 c. mix
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
2/3 c. water

Blend with fork or spatula. Top with:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. butter
Nuts (optional)

Melt together in pan and pour over batter. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.

PIZZA:

Add warm water to mix, form into ball and roll between 2 pieces of wax paper.
