ANISE CANDY 
2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. white syrup
1 tsp. anise oil
Food coloring (few drops)

Cook sugar, water, and white syrup until hard crack stage on a candy thermometer (265 degrees). Remove from heat. Add anise oil and few drops of food coloring. Pour mixture into a buttered 8 x 8 inch pan. When candy becomes hard, wrap in dish towel and crack with hammer or knife handle.
