“MONSTER DOUBLE CHOCOLATE COOKIES” IS IN:

MONSTER DOUBLE CHOCOLATE COOKIES 
A Cake-like Cookie.

1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine
2 1/2 (1 oz. ea.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup sour milk or buttermilk

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Melt margarine and chocolate slowly in a saucepan. Remove from heat. Add sugar and mix thoroughly. Ask vanity and eggs and beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda. Stir the dry ingredients and the milk alternately into the saucepan mixture. When the batter is well mixed, drop large tablespoonfuls about 2-inches apart onto a baking sheet.

Bake at 350°F for about 12 minutes. Cool. Frost with Chocolate Frosting.

CHOCOLATE FROSTING:

1 tbsp. margarine
1 1/2 (1 oz. ea.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 1/2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. milk

Melt margarine and chocolate over low heat. Blend sugar and milk in a small bowl. Add hot chocolate mixture and mix well. Let stand, stirring occasionally, until of right consistency to spread on cookies.

Note: If frosting becomes too thick, add milk and mix well.

Makes 18 (3-inch wide) cookies.
