BARBECUED GROUND BEEF 
1 lb. ground beef
1 tbsp. lard or drippings
1 c. finely chopped onion
1 c. finely chopped green pepper
1 c. catsup
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. prepared mustard
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cloves

Brown meat in drippings until crumbly, but not hard. Combine remaining ingredients and add to meat. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes. Serve on split buns. 6 to 8 servings.
