CRACKER CHEESE PIE 
This is like a souffle.

1 lb. cheese
1/2 box saltine crackers
1 c. milk
1/2 stick (4 tbsp.) butter
1 egg

Layer crackers and cheese. Beat egg, add to milk. Pour milk mixture over crackers and cheese. Bake in a preheated 400°F oven until firm.

I remember eating this cracker pie at the country club in Newberry, SC, a long time ago. My mother, a native of Newberry, told me it was a very popular dish when she grew up there in the 1920s. They used Ritz crackers in it at the club and I use them when I make it at home.
