MATTIE'S PINTO BEANS SPECIAL 
4 c. pinto beans
2 tbsp. chili powder
3 tsp. salt
1/4 lb. dry salt pork
1 tsp. onion salt
4 tbsp. bacon drippings
1 whole onion

Wash beans well (do not soak). Put in a deep pot, cover beans well with cold water, place on stove to reach boiling point, then add remaining ingredients, turning temperature to medium. Cook until done. Note: Put onion in a cloth so as to give beans flavor but not cook in beans. Serves 12.
