COFFEE TOFFEE BARS 
2 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. instant coffee
1/2 c. nuts, chopped (optional)
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. butter
1 tsp. almond extract
1 c. (6 oz.) chocolate chips

Cream butter and brown sugar, blend in almond extract and coffee. Add dry ingredients which have been sifted together. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Press dough into 15 x 10 inch pan or on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes, until slightly browned. Frost if desired with Almond Glaze.

ALMOND GLAZE:

1 tbsp. butter, soft
1/8 tsp. almond extract
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. milk

Frost while warm.
