FRUIT CAKE COOKIES 
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 stick butter
2 eggs
1 1/2 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. orange juice
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 lb. chopped candied cherries
1 lb. chopped candied pineapple
1/2 lb. raisins
1/2 lb. chopped dates
3 c. finely chopped pecans
1/4-1/2 oz. orange extract

Cream the brown sugar and butter. Add eggs and beat. Mix the cinnamon and soda with 1 cup flour and add alternately with the milk, beating well. Add the orange juice and orange extract and beat. Dredge the fruit in 1/2 cup flour and mix into batter.

Drop by teaspoons onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. These cookies will keep for a long time if kept in an airtight container.
