2 tbsp. oil
1 env. onion soup mix
2 c. water
1 med. green pepper, or 1/3 each red, green and yellow pepper
2 tsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tbsp. cornstarch
Hot cooked rice

Brown steak in oil in a large skillet. Stir in onion soup mix and 1 1/2 cups water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer covered for 20 minutes. Stir in ginger, soy sauce and pepper. Simmer again for 15 minutes or until meat is tender.

Mix cornstarch in remaining water and add to mixture, stirring continually until sauce is thickened. Serve over hot rice. The different colored peppers makes the dish much more attractive. Serves 4.

It really was easy to make but sure didn't taste like it!! Also I changed a few things, I used flour instead of cornstarch, chicken broth instead of soup mix, and no ginger ( all because I didn't have the ingredients :)) But it was spectacular! Me, my husband, and my 3 girls enjoyed it very much!!

Easy to make and very good. I added seasoned salt , onion powder, and garlic powder. The only recipe I use when I make pepper steak.
