ALL - AMERICAN MACARONI
CASSEROLE
 
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
2 med. onions, chopped
1 med. green pepper, chopped
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. red pepper
2 c. elbow macaroni, cooked
1 c. cream style cottage cheese
1 c. grated cheese (Cheddar)

Brown ground beef in skillet, stirring until crumbly; drain. Add onions and green peppers, mixing well. Cook for 1 minute. Stir next 5 ingredients. Simmer covered for 45 minutes.

Layer half the macaroni and ground beef mixture, all the cottage cheese and 1/4 cup Cheddar cheese in 2 1/2 quart casserole. Top with remaining macaroni, ground beef mixture and Cheddar cheese. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Bake loosely covered for 15 minutes longer.
