MAPLE PECAN SQUARES 
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 c. flour
1/4 c. brown sugar

TOPPING:

2/3 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. maple syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. pecans
2 tbsp. flour
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix base ingredients with fingertips and press into an 8x8 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees 5 minutes.

Mix brown sugar and maple syrup in saucepan, simmer for 5 minutes. Cool to lukewarm. Add beaten eggs, stirring constantly. Add other ingredients. Spread over base. Bake 400 degrees 5 minutes. Then reduce to 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until firm.
