MAPLE PECAN SQUARES 
1 1/4 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. softened butter
2 beaten eggs
2/3 c. sugar
3/4 c. maple syrup
2 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts

1. Combine flour and sugar in medium sized bowl. Cut in the butter. Mix until mixture resembles coarse meal. Press mixture into a greased 9 inch square pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.

2. Combine ingredients and beat well. Add nuts. Pour filling over prepared crust. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees (or until firm). Cool and cut into squares. Makes about 2 dozen.
