2 1/2 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. ground cardamom
1 c. soft butter
3/4 c. sugar
3 egg yolks
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
Food coloring if desired

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, cardamon. Cream butter and sugar in bowl until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks and lemon rind. Blend until smooth. Add flour mixture. Color dough with 2 or 3 drops of food coloring. Put small amount of dough in cookie press with star pattern. Press 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 7 to 9 minutes. Makes 6 dozen.
