CHESS CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1 box brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
4 egg yolks
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. broken nuts (optional)
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
4 egg whites
Powdered confectioners' sugar

Melt butter, add both sugars and blend well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture. Fold in nuts and vanilla. Beat egg whites until stiff, fold into creamed mixture. Spread batter in greased and floured 9x13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes. After baking, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
