DEVIL FUN CAKE 
4 1/4 squares chocolate
3/4 c. shortening
2 3/8 c. sugar
1 3/8 c. boiling water
3/4 c. sour milk
2 1/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 3/8 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Melt chocolate and shortening in double boiler and add boiling water. Sift sugar into large mixing bowl and add chocolate mixture. Sift flour, soda, and salt. Add alternately with sour milk. Add 1 egg at a time. Add vanilla. Pour into two 9-inch or three 8-inch waxed paper-lined pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes in preheated oven.

DEVIL FUN CAKE FROSTING:

3 egg whites, beaten stiff
5 1/4 c. powdered sugar
3/8 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. glycerine

Beat egg whites stiff, then gradually add 1 1/2 cups sugar. Combine 3/4 cup sugar and 3/8 cup butter; add to original mixture and mix. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, 1 1/2 teaspoons glycerine, and 3 cups sugar; mix all together.
