COLD PACK SWEET PICKLES 
Use fresh cucumbers, small ones leave whole cutting off the ends or cut in half lengthwise. Large ones may be cut in 1-inch chunks or spears. Wash cucumbers, cut up and place in clean jars.

SYRUP:

1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. white vinegar
1 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. mixed pickling spices
1/4 tsp. turmeric

Mix syrup and heat until sugar melts and ingredients are mixed. Pour over pickles in jars; seal, hot water bath 5 minutes.

This recipe may be doubled, tripled or quadrupled as a single batch makes only 2 or 3 pints.
