Years ago (it was sometime in the late 1980's) I came across this recipe in an advertisement for Hunt's tomato products in a popular ladies' magazine. I have been making it ever since and everyone loves it. It's easily adapted for stuffed shells instead of manicotti as well.

I've used this recipe for years. I make it as a lasagna and it's still a family favorite. The ingredients are simple but this is a delicious and flavorful recipe.
