SWEDISH MEAT BALLS 
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground pork
3/4 c. bread crumbs (toast and grind)
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. milk
1/4 tsp. pepper
3/8 tsp. nutmeg
3 tbsp. butter
1 med. onion, cut fine

Brown onions in little butter. Soak crumbs in milk a few minutes. Add beaten eggs. Add meat (twice ground to make it fine), spices and onions. Make into balls. Roll in fine crumbs. Brown in part butter. Cover pan and cook slowly in oven or top of stove for 20-30 minutes. A little hot water may be added.
