SIMPLE SUPER SOFT CHOCOLATE CHIP
COOKIES

This is one of the best and simplest cookie recipes out there. Soft in the middle and firm on the outside, these cookies are a tad denser than most. The short list of ingredients means you'll always have the required supplies on hand.

1 cup butter flavored shortening (Crisco)
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup water
1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 400°F. Microwave Crisco for 60 seconds or until melted. Set Crisco aside to cool.

Beat two eggs in a large bowl. Add flour, sugars, walnuts and Crisco. Mix. Slowly add water and mix while adding. Dough should be thin, but not too thin -- a little thicker than frosting. Stir in chocolate chips. Place heaping spoonfuls of dough onto greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 400°F for 9 to 11 minutes. Cookies will be brown on bottom, but may have a shiny spot on top. Better to underbake than to overbake.

Remove cookies from oven and place into freezer. Remove from freezer after 5-10 minutes and enjoy!

Yields about 2 dozen (3-inch) cookies.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
