1 1/2 c. Quaker white cornmeal 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. sugar 1 sm. onion, finely chopped 3/4 c. milk 1 egg, beaten Sift together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into bowl. Add onion. Stir in milk and egg. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls into hot deep fat 375 degrees, frying only a few at a time. Fry until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper. |
