TENNESSEE BUTTER CAKE 
1 c. butter
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped walnuts

TOPPING:

1/4 lb. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. water

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. In separate bowl combine flour, powder and soda. Add flour mixture to first 3 ingredients a little at a time. Next add milk and nuts.

Pour batter in floured tube or bundt pan. Bake at 325 degrees until done (when piece of straw comes out clean - about an hour). When cake is done, bring to boil topping ingredients. Pour over hot cake while it is still in cake pan.
