BANANA HONEY CAKE 
1 c. honey
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. rolled oats
3/4 c. soft butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. mashed bananas
1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking powder
2 (3 oz.) pkgs. soft cream cheese
2 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour the honey into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and pour over oats in a bowl. Add the sugar gradually and beat until fluffy. Blend in eggs. Add the oats mixture and bananas and beat until blended. Sift flour, remaining soda, salt and baking powder together. Add to creamed mixture and mix well.

Pour into 2 greased and waxed paper-lined 8 inch round cake pans. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes and cool on a wire rack for about 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool.

Beat the cream cheese in a bowl until fluffy. Add the powdered sugar gradually and beat until frosting is of spreading consistency. Spread between layers and over top of cake and refrigerate. Garnish with banana slices just before serving.
