EASY & DELICIOUS MACARONI &
CHEESE

5 tbsp. butter
3 1/2 c. uncooked elbow macaroni
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 - 1 lb. grated cheese
Dash pepper
6 c. milk

Melt butter in 9 x 13 inch pan. Pour uncooked macaroni into melted butter. Stir well until coated. Stir salt, pepper and cheese through macaroni. Pour milk over all. bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Do not stir while baking. Note: I use 1/2 cup additional milk - makes it a little more creamy. I also make a pan, cool, divide into four servings and freeze. Then I just add a little milk and heat in microwave when I want to use it. Good to have on hand.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.

This is very good and so easy! It's as easy as making the stuff out of the box and it tastes just like homemade. Resist the urge to stir it when it's baking. :)

I used whole wheat pasta and it came out great. I also used a can of evaporated milk as part of the total milk and it was nice and creamy.

I am SHOCKED at how well this recipe turned out! My husband has very high mac & cheese standards, and he loved this recipe. It's simple and no-frills, but the prep is so effortless! I'm amazed.

This is just like my mother used to make when I was a kid. I haven't had it done like this in over 50 years. It was fabulous!

5 stars so far for the prep. Just put it in the oven...hoping it tastes as good as everyone says it should! I added a dash or two of paprika and substituted a cup and a half of cream instead of milk!

Did you bake this uncovered? I love the easy prep!

forgot to coat the macaroni in the melted butter but mixed it later with the cheese etc. Turned out a little like scrambled eggs. Also a suggestion on what type of cheese would be great. Otherwise teenagers enjoyed

I barely had an hour left to get a mac and cheese dish on the Thanksgiving table. I had to improvise and fast because I didn't have the hour it takes for this dish. I used all the ingredients but changed the amounts. I also used cooked macaroni as the uncooked is what accounts for most of that hour. I also sprinkled a little paprika on the finished dish for presentation. Total time was 35-45 min and it was a hit! We ran out. That prayer I made while throwing stuff into the casserole dish worked! I didn't rate this recipe because I didn't follow but it did save me. I try it again next week and follow the directions. THANK YOU!!

My family LOVES this for taste. We use sharp cheddar. I love it for the convenience! I have made this in the conventional oven. Can it be made in a crockpot?

Was very easy to make! For some reason though all of the ingredients wouldn't fit into my pan. I had to upgrade to the 9.5 x 13.5 and still only got 4 c. of milk. But that was plenty, I still thought that it was a little bit milky in the end. Next time I will definitely use 1% milk instead of 2%, in hopes of reducing the milk flavor a little bit.

This is a great dish! My friends and family loved it and it was gone in no time. A couple of small changes I made...I put in 5 cups milk and 1 cup heavy cream. I also sprinkled panko crumbs on top during the last 20 minutes of cooking for a nice crunchy topping. Such an easy recipe!
