EASY & DELICIOUS MACARONI &
CHEESE

5 tbsp. butter
3 1/2 c. uncooked elbow macaroni
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 - 1 lb. grated cheese
Dash pepper
6 c. milk

Melt butter in 9 x 13 inch pan. Pour uncooked macaroni into melted butter. Stir well until coated. Stir salt, pepper and cheese through macaroni. Pour milk over all. bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Do not stir while baking. Note: I use 1/2 cup additional milk - makes it a little more creamy. I also make a pan, cool, divide into four servings and freeze. Then I just add a little milk and heat in microwave when I want to use it. Good to have on hand.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.

I made this for the first time tonight and took it to a potluck. Everyone--even my son who is a picky eater---loved it! It is so easy to make and delicious. Definitely going to make this again. Thanks!!

The prep was easy!! I rarely cook anything, so I was happy to find this recipe. It's in the oven as we speak. I hope it comes out as yummy as is looks like everyone says. Used whole milk, and a cheddar blend and Italian blend for cheese.

For many years I have made mac and cheese from a recipe where you cook and drain the noodles, grate the cheese, and make the sauce and it is delicious...but a lot more work than this handy and simple little recipe. My husband does not eat mac and cheese so I halved the recipe and it still made a nice-sized casserole. I used Dreamfields elbow macaroni, a good grade of grated extra sharp cheddar cheese that comes in a bag, and whole milk. It took several days, but I did eat every bite of it myself. I do intend to make it again.
